Data Engineer
I build data platforms
for complex problems.
I design and build reliable data platforms across batch, streaming, analytics, and distributed systems — with a focus on scalability, data quality, and production readiness.

01What I build
Four things, done properly.
Not a skills list. These are the kinds of systems I design and the value each one is supposed to create.
Data Platforms
Ingestion, processing, storage, quality and access designed as one system — so adding a source is a configuration change, not a project.
Distributed Systems
Scale through partitioning, parallelism and event-driven boundaries, with failure treated as a normal operating condition rather than an exception.
Streaming & Real-Time Systems
Event-driven pipelines designed for high-throughput, low-latency decisions — with partitioning, state, backpressure and failure recovery treated as first-class concerns.
Analytics Engineering
Models, metrics and semantics that people trust — because the definitions are versioned and the numbers can be traced back to source.
02 Selected work · Flagship
AURYNTData Factory
Enterprise synthetic data infrastructure. A cloud-native, multi-tenant platform built to generate, validate, certify and deliver realistic datasets — so teams can build against data that behaves like production without ever touching it.
Certified Output
Multi-tenant
Designed for isolated enterprise workloads with row-level scoping and per-tenant credentialing.
Production realism
Preserves statistical, relational, and behavioral characteristics to pass all downstream expectations.
Certified output
Generated datasets pass automated quality validation and carry an auditable certificate before delivery.

10M EVENTS/SEC
Design target
Engineered for horizontal scale by partition. Designed to process high streaming throughput under bursty transaction loads.
LOW LATENCY
Real-time decision path
Combines stateful windowed metrics with low-latency profile reads to score risk inside the authorization window.
FAULT TOLERANT
Backpressure + graceful degradation
Maintains availability. Falls back dynamically to rule checks if ML services time out or experience downstream lag.
Partitioning
Account-keyed partitioning preserves ordering while enabling horizontal scaling.
Stateful Processing
Windowed and stateful processing produces real-time behavioral features.
Graceful Degradation
Rules-based fallback keeps the decision path available when model-dependent services degrade.
04Engineering philosophy
How I make engineering decisions.
I don't start with technology.
I start with the constraint.
- What breaks first when traffic multiplies?
- My approachI don't start by adding compute. I identify the bottleneck, then choose the scaling boundary — partitioning, parallelism, storage layout, or caching.
- What happens when something goes down?
- My approachA production system should have a defined degradation path. Failure should produce a controlled outcome, not an unknown one.
- How do I know the data is actually correct?
- My approachA successful pipeline run is not proof of correctness. I validate freshness, completeness, distributions, constraints and business rules.
- Which part of the system actually needs to be real-time?
- My approachNot everything needs streaming. I choose batch, incremental or streaming based on the business latency requirement.
- What will this architecture cost at scale?
- My approachPartitioning, storage format, compute strategy and retention policies are architecture decisions — not cleanup work after deployment.
- Can another engineer operate this at 2 AM?
- My approachSystems need observable failure modes, useful documentation, safe recovery paths and predictable behavior.
